  • Transcriptions enable full Phrase and Word searches.

  • Web App improvements now include search on Mobiles.

  • Text and transcriptions can be translated into 24 major languages.

  • Global Voice (text to speech) can re-voice video using best-fit lip-sync in each of the 24 major languages.

Brand Consistency - interactive video can be developed on brand at scale:

  • By improving Themes and Templates LUMA1 can deliver consistent look and feel and comply with design guidelines.

  • Release 28 allows for customised buttons and complete control of type with leading, kerning and letter spacing.

  • Themes, Templates and Content can now be locked to maintain ‘look and feel’ of interactive content across a large organisation.

Insights into your viewers’ knowledge is simpler and more robust:

  • Assessments or surveys now offer questions that can be answered simply by clicking on video ‘hotspots’.

  • Hotspots and Drag and Drop tools have both been improved and simplified.

  • A new Forms Layout editor enables creation of the look and feel you want.

  • Open Answer questions now support video, speech, text and file upload formats as part of an Assessment or Survey.

Giving all users the information they want, at their fingertips:

  • Viewer Portal improvements now offer users their own personal dashboard.

  • Makers too have a configurable dashboard, workflow based help and online chat support.

The LUMA1 rebrand

LUMA1 wanted a look and feel that was more reflective of their innovative technology and they selected UK design shop, Johnson Banks to embrace the challenge. As Michael Johnson says, “LUMA1 is doing something special.

The very notion of making video more effective appealed massively. Couple that with the ability to train huge numbers of people with limited resources and you can see why LUMA1 has the potential to explode”. Johnson Banks gave LUMA1 its own typeface that includes the incorporation of the number 1 into the capital A in the new logo.

There is also a blended color palette that has been deployed across many design elements. “The new identity aims to convey transformation of plain old video into a new and much more engaging experience,” says Johnson.

LUMA1 helps local school to make a virtual tour

When Paul Newman, our Director in the UK was asked to help his daughter’s school with some video production, he took the opportunity to go further. It was a chance for him to try out one of our recommended tools for simple video production, the DJI Pocket 2. He stayed back a few sunny days after school and (a few not so sunny) and got to work, dusting off his old skills. Paul then edited the videos in another simple tool, Adobe Rush.
